PHYSICAL COMPUTING
FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

For students and teachers, Physical Computing is a fascinating participatory activity that explores how humans interact with computers through non-traditional forms of input linked to boundless creator determined output. It uses novel forms of input [not the typical mouse or keyboard] that depend upon the computer becoming “aware” of the human – sensing energy that is produced by humans, such as sound, movement, light, and heat and transmitted through sensors, transducers and/or detectors. The input device is, in effect, the human brain and body.
